On the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the Faculty of Maritime Studies Kotor and the 50th anniversary of the University of Montenegro, the International Conference on Maritime Science – KIMC 2024 – was held in Kotor last week, bringing together more than 100 experts and scientists from over 20 countries.
At the opening ceremony, the Faculty of Maritime Studies Kotor presented a certificate of appreciation to Sailing Club Delfin Tivat, as one of its distinguished partners, for continuous cooperation and contribution to the preservation of the maritime tradition of Boka Kotorska. This gesture is yet another recognition of the club’s dedication and its role in the development of the maritime sector and the promotion of nautical tourism in our region.
The Faculty of Maritime Studies Kotor, with its long-standing tradition in maritime education, continues to follow the latest industry trends, making Boka Kotorska globally recognized as a center of maritime knowledge. This year as well, the Faculty, in cooperation with Sailing Club Delfin Tivat and the Transport Community, organized an event promoting sustainability and the development of nautical tourism.
Thus, in May 2025, Tivat will host the conference “Boka Kotorska as a Sustainable Nautical Destination” as part of Seafarers’ Week. This event is yet another testament to the importance of cooperation between academic and sports institutions, working together to preserve tradition and promote maritime values.
