Maritime Shipping Society Delfin
Sailing Club Delfin first set out on its journey in 1948 as the Maritime Shipping Society Delfin, before becoming an independent sailing club in 1951. Since then, the wind in its sails has never faded. From boats built in the Arsenal shipyard and the passion of its first members, a story has unfolded that has lasted for more than seven decades. Love for the sea, the joy of sailing, and the spirit of togetherness have brought generations to Delfin, where they learned not only their first steps in sailing, but also values that cannot be measured by trophies – perseverance, friendship, and respect for the sea.

Through the club grew the first sailors, and later athletes, whose achievements wrote the history of sailing in Boka and Montenegro. From wooden sailboats they built with their own hands, through unforgettable regattas across the Adriatic, to trophies still kept in the club’s showcases, Delfin has always been more than a sport – it has been a home and a school of life.

Today, with its sailing school for children, a rich fleet, and hundreds of members of all generations, the club continues to spread love for the sea and the sails. Though the most decorated sailing club in Montenegro, Delfin still draws its strength from the humble enthusiasm of its members and friends, who keep it alive as a place of tradition, friendship, and shared dreams.
Maritime Shipping Society
At the time when competitive sailing was just beginning to develop on the Adriatic, Tivat already had the Arsenal shipyard, the Mechanical Engineering School, and a renowned boatbuilding workshop.
The art of shipbuilding
With cruisers they built with their own hands, Delfin’s sailors, already in the very year of the club’s founding, claimed victory at the First Sailing Regatta of Montenegro.
Fleet
The sailboats "Suton" and "Crnogorka" stand as the most decorated, while competitors in the Stela class have also kept pace with remarkable results. The name Delfin carries weight all across the Adriatic.
Crew
Delfin is a community of veterans, skilled coaches, technicians and logisticians. Of young learners and decorated athletes. Of friends, creatives, masters of the galley, and devoted volunteers.
A tale of the sea
All of them together, for more than seven decades, have been weaving a harmonious tale of the sea. Delfin has always been known as a welcoming harbor for every traveler drawn to Tivat by the sea – or by friends.
Laughter and mischief
Every summer, more than a hundred children overcome their fear of the sea through Delfin’s sailing school, while at the same time learning the basics of sailing and gaining their first knowledge of seamanship.
